User Experience Design Studio (HCDE 418)

During Fall quarter 2010, I had the opportunity to teach User Experience Design (HCDE 418) to 25 senior undergraduate students at the University of Washington. In eleven weeks, 5 teams of 5 students each successfully completed a redesign for the University’s eCare health services website. Processes taught included user research, ideation, persona building, system modeling, wireframing, prototyping, and reflection.

SXSW Mobile Web Application

sxswapp

For SXSW, Ascentium created a mobile website “app” for attendees to give speaker feedback in real time. This allowed SXSW attendees to make informed decisions about which panels and presentations to attend, and follows the familiar thumbs up/down model of the SXSW “panel picker.” I gathered requirements and prototyped the site, while working with development and visual design.
