Working Class Studio
I was one of three graduate students selected for a summer internship at this interdisciplinary product design and screenprinting studio. Pictured here is “sweetgum” a custom textile hand crafted from inception to a production run of ten yards.

Ben Morris Textiles
The studio had received the right to the work of Ben Morris, a well-known artist and designer in the 70 - 80s from Savannah, GA. I was tasked with updating the original designs, creating coordinates, handcutting and painting new screen emulsions, updating the color palette, and for creating and recording the industrial ink “recipes” for the new colors.

Although management and direction of the studio changed shortly after my time there, the work I had started was further developed by new interns and eventually became the “Ben” melamine collection.
